CHOREOGRAPHY
"Most dancers and choreographers find inspiration in music, but not many commune with it as intensely as Canadian tapper Heather Cornell" The Stage, London, England
Ms. Cornell is a celebrated choreographer, having defined a style of tap choreography dubbed “visual music” by the NY Times. She works with many types of artists, being as equally comfortable with beginners, non-dancers and new dancers as she is with top professionals. She loves working across disciplines and so incorporates live music and theater whenever possible in her work.
Ms. Cornell is available to choreograph on your dance, theater or music ensemble She is a master at creating visual polyrhythms utilizing any combination of tap styles (sand, wood, tap) and/or physical or body percussion. Her expertise is in working with live music, so if you have a desire to integrate live music into your ensemble, Ms. Cornell can mentor you in that process. She can also be commissioned to teach original material of the masters, with whom she studied directly or original Manhattan Tap choreography.
